Austin began his career as a trademark attorney at the firm’s Trademark, Copyright, and Legal Department since 2011. Austin also serves as a member in the Parallel Imports Committee at INTA (International Trademark Association).
As a trademark attorney, Austin is responsible for trademark prosecution, enforcement, and litigation before the Chinese Trademark Office (CTMO), the Trademark Review and Adjudication Board (TRAB), and the People’s Courts. Majority of Austin’s works deal with Fortune 500 and other worldwide famous brands’ trademark portfolios in the field of Internet, social medial, mechanical devices, hospitality, and other areas. Austin joined the firm’s business development team as one of the business development manager in 2013, while still practicing Chinese trademark and patent law, he was also responsible for the firm’s U.S. client matters. In his role, Austin expanded his point of view on how to best provide cost and time effective strategies for client’s needs based on each of their own circumstances facing the Chinese market.
