From November 5 – 7, 2014, the annual Patent Information Fair & Conference (PIFC) was held in Tokyo, Japan. Beijing East IP Ltd. organized a team to attend this Conference for the second consecutive year.

The PIFC is the largest patent information, intellectual property products and technology information exhibition. This three-day exhibition attracted more than 85 domestic and global intellectual property services providers to exhibit, and hosted more than 18,000 attendees from various industries, which provided an excellent communication platform for intellectual property business.

During this Conference, Beijing East IP attracted numerous attendees who have or will have intellectual property services to exchange their view. Our professionals introduced Beijing East IP’s 1-Stop services concept and advantage, and provided precise demonstrations and suggestions to the attendees at our boot. We have established connection with more than 300 companies and corporations, and reached an excellent business communication and promotional outcome.

In September 2014, the Gao Lulin Foundation created intellectual property related scholarship at the John Marshall Law School in Chicago to encourage students to learn and research in the intellectual property field. The Gao Lulin Foundation is sponsored by Beijing East IP with Chairman Dr. Lulin GAO’s name to create scholarship funds.

In September 2014, the Gao Lulin Foundation created the “Gao Lulin Intellectual Property Law Scholarship” at Tsinghua University School of Law to encourage the students to learn and research intellectual property law. The Gao Lulin Foundation is sponsored by Beijing East IP with Chairman Dr. Lulin GAO’s name to create scholarship funds.

On September 18, 2014, General Manager Dr. Xiaodong LI of Beijing East IP was invited to give a presentation at China Electronics Standardization Institute. The presentation was based on the association between standardization and patent. Dr. LI shared his experiences in handling multinational corporations’ problems with the Institute’s managers and leaders. Dr. LI also led in-depth discussions regarding the necessary standard patent licensing fees and other related topics with the Institute’s attendees.

2014, setup an exhibition booth, and exchanged views with intellectual property professionals from various fields about the last domestic and international patent information development and products. Moreover, many corporations were very interested in Beijing East IP’s Patent Analysis Department’s services.

On August 15, 2014, Manager of the Electric Department patent attorney Qiang LIN was invited to JETRO’s Beijing representative office to give a presentation on “The Best Practice of Software Patent in China.” Based on his comparative research on various country’s patent law, Attorney Lin presented a detailed introduction for software patent protection history, current practices, latest case reviews, and heated debated topics based on his own experiences on representing multinationals’ cases. All of JETRO’s Beijing representative office’s patent professionals attended this seminar, occupied the entire conference room. JETRO’s members from their Shanghai and Guangzhou offices also attended this seminar through live web camera. After the presentation, Attorney Lin answered questions in general practice, and discussed heated questions with attendees.

Both parties believe such in-depth, professional share and exchange should be held more often.

In July 2014, the Beijing Haidian District Intellectual Property Office invited Chairman Dr. Lulun GAO to give an intellectual property training for government officials of Haidian District.

General Manager Dr. Xiaodong LI led a team to attend IPBC Global 2014 in Amsterdam on June 22 – 24, 2014. The team met with many high level intellectual property professionals from the world, discussed and exchanged views about intellectual property value creation and management topics.
