  • Chairman Dr. Lulin GAO attended the first World Internet Conference as the Vice President of Internet Society of China in Wuzheng

    From November 19 – 21, 2014, the first World Internet Conference was held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang. The Conference used “An Interconnected World Shared and Governed by All” as its theme, and was co-hosted by the Information Office of the State Council and the People’s Government of Zhejiang.

  • Beijing East IP successfully held the U.S. and China IP Dialogue in Silicon Valley, California

    On October 2, 2014, the Gao Lulin Foundation and the Silicon Valley Intellectual Property Association (AIPLA) hosted, Beijing East IP and Tsinghua University School of Law sponsored the U.S. and China IP Dialogue seminar in Silicon Valley. More than 100 intellectual property government officials, scholars, lawyers and corporate representatives from China, U.S. and Europe attended this seminar.

    The seminar invited Xingtian YIN, former Spokesperson, General Director of Legal Affair Department of SIPO, Guobin CUI, associate professor from Tsinghua University School of Law, Yongshun CHENG, former Deputy Chief Judge of the Beijing High Court IP Tribunal, Zhongqiang CAO, former Deputy Commissioner of the Chinese Trademark office, Elaine Wu, attorney at the Office of Policy and International Affairs of the USPTO, John Cabeca, Director of the Silicon Valley USPTO, Teddy Joe, senior patent counsel of Zynga Inc., Professor Doris Long, Professor of the John Marshall Law School, Dr. Jacques Michel, former Vice President of the European Patent Office, and many other high level intellectual property officials to give presentations.

    General Manager Dr. Xiaodong LI of Beijing East IP Ltd. gave an opening remarks, Chairman Dr. Lulin GAO gave an presentation on Software Business Method Patent in China, and had a very good interaction with the attendees about the software patent problems in U.S. and China. Vice General Manager Dragon WANG acted as a panel moderator, effectively moderated and asked many essential problems to the panelists for foreign applicants, investors, and practitioners who encounters intellectual property problems in China. Jason WANG partner of the Beijing East IP Law Firm shared the analysis of the Duck King retrial case by the Supreme People’s Court.

    This seminar is the first seminar hosted by an intellectual property provider from China and the biggest intellectual property seminar in the Silicon Valley. This seminar not only promotes the understanding of China intellectual property laws and practices to U.S. corporations’ representatives, lawyers, but also provided advanced understanding of current practices in intellectual property filing and litigation in China.

  • Beijing East IP, Tongji Law School/IP Institute, and Beijing Wei-Heng Law Firm signed a three-party cooperation agreement

    On September 29, 2014, Beijing East IP Ltd, Tongji Law School/IP Institute, and Beijing Wei-Heng Law Firm co-hosted a ceremony for signing a three-party strategic cooperation agreement, and a seminar of antimonopoly in the automobile field. Vice General Manager Dr. Jian LI of Beijing East IP presented at the signing ceremony.
