On June 16 – 17, 2013, Beijing East IP attended the China Intellectual Property Symposium (Xi’An) 2013 hosted by the All-China Patent Attorneys Association (ACPAA) and FICPI China. The Symposium increased the communication between Beijing East IP and foreign intellectual property professionals, increased our team’s professionalism in providing high quality services to domestic and foreign clients.

Mr. Jason Wang, partner at Beijing East IP Law Firm, published Determination of “Bad Faith Filing” –Analysis on the Supreme People’s Court Re-trial Case of DUCK KING on 2013 Issue 6 of China Trademark magazine.

On June 9 – 11, 2013, Beijing East IP organized a team of patent and trademark agents and attorneys to attend the IPBC Global 2013 in Boston. During the conference, the team reconnected with existing clients, and discussed many issues with worldwide intellectual property leaders regarding intellectual property transaction, monetization, new technology development, and other influential topics.

In May 2013, Beijing East IP attended the China International IP Forum 2013 hosted by Managing IP magazine and China Intellectual Property Society. The Forum attracted numerous domestic and international intellectual property managers, professionals, and lawyers to present and discuss “how to operate intellectual property assets globally without losing protection.”

Beijing East IP Ltd. / Beijing East IP Law Firm organized and hosted its 2013 spring field trip on a sunny Sunday on May 12.

Beijing East IP Ltd. / Beijing East IP Law Firm attended the 2013 INTA Annual Meeting in Dallas, US from May 4 to May 8. Led by our chairman Dr. Lulin Gao, a team consists of our General Manager Dr. Xiaodong Li, Vice General Manger Mr. Dragon Wang, our partner Mr. Jason Wang at trademark department, and other trademark and patent colleagues visited various clients and attended various meetings.

In April 2013, Beijing First Intermediate Court rendered the (2013) Yi Zhong Zhi Xin Chu Zi No. 134 Administrative Decision (Decision No. 134) sustained the decision of the Trademark Review and Adjudication Board’s (TRAB), where the English mark of a worldwide famous website as well-known in China. Beijing East IP Law Firm represented this worldwide famous website.

On April 24, 2013, Shunde Court announced TOP 10 IP Cases (2008-2012) handled by Shunde Court from 2008 to 2012. The TOP 10 IP cases are selected from over 1,400 IP cases handled by Shende Court in the past five years (from 2008 to 2012), including the IKEA trademark case.

On April 10, 2013, together with commissioner Lipu TIAN, our chairman Dr. GAO, as the very first commissioner for establishing the cooperating relationship between SIPO and the John Marshall Law School at Chicago, was invited to give a speech in 20 Years of Successful Cooperation China-US Seminar on Intellectual Property.
