The Second IIP & Beijing East IP International Seminar was Successfully Held in Tokyo

On June 5, 2015, the Institute of Intellectual Property (IIP) and Beijing East IP Ltd. co-hosted the second international seminar in the meeting room of IIP in Tokyo. This seminar was moderated by Mr. Kawamata Hiroshi, the Deputy Director of IIP. Dr. Xiaodong LI, General Manager of Beijing East IP Ltd. delivered an opening speech as representative of the host at the opening of the seminar. More than 40 professionals attended this seminar, including IP lawyers and IP attorneys from domestic Japanese enterprises and Japanese patent law firms, examiners from the Japan Patent Office, professional IP experts from IP organizations and universities.

At the seminar, Senior Advisor Mr. Anman Qiu of Beijing East IP presented a speech focused on the latest development of IPR in China. The Director of our Tokyo office, Dr. Wei Song presented a speech on the topic “Protection of Trade Secret in China”. Manager of our Japanese/Korean Division, Ms. Yongyu Zhang presented a speech based on landscape of infringement litigation in China and provided valuable suggestions for foreign companies. In the Q&A session, attendees raised a number of questions about the above three topics, which were well answered by lawyers and patent attorneys of Beijing East IP. After the Q&A session, partial attendees stayed and exchanged their opinions about IPR protection and practices in China with Beijing East IP team.

Q&A Session

This seminar utilized multiple sessions of speech and Q&A to allow IP professionals of Japanese enterprises and law firms understand the latest development of China IP protection. This seminar also provided advisory opinions on how can foreign enterprises protect IP rights in China through practical experience of Chinese attorneys and analysis of typical cases.
